Get answers to common questions about Lip Waxing.

Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on hair growth cycles, hormones, and individual differences. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and make hair finer; we recommend scheduling every 4–6 weeks for consistent maintenance and optimal outcomes.

You may feel a brief sting as hair is removed, but our technicians use warm wax, expert technique, and calming aftercare to minimize discomfort. Breathing, distraction, and gentle products help. Numbing is rarely necessary but can be discussed for very sensitive clients.

Allow hair to be about 1/4 inch for effective removal. Avoid exfoliating treatments, chemical peels, or retinoids 48–72 hours before waxing. Come with a clean, makeup-free upper lip and inform us of medications or skin sensitivities.

Waxing can cause temporary redness or occasional ingrown hairs, especially with coarse or curly hair. We reduce risk with proper technique, advise gentle exfoliation after 48 hours, and recommend soothing products to prevent and treat ingrown bumps.

Lip waxing is safe for most skin types when performed by trained professionals. However, consult us if you’re pregnant, using retinoids or Accutane, have active cold sores, infections, or severe rosacea. Minors require parental consent and a consultation.

Schedule every 4–6 weeks for consistent smoothness, adjusting based on your personal hair growth, hormonal changes, and comfort. New clients may notice quicker regrowth initially; after a few sessions hair often becomes finer and sparser.
